Ahead of its official unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Skoda has released an official teaser image of its Superb estate. The luggage capacity of the Superb estate is believed to be huge but exact figures are still unknown. However, it is said to be larger in capacity to the Volvo V70. The car's Octavia-inspired styling is clearly seen on the image, which confirms that the innovative split hatchback from the regular model is not found on the estate.
While the estate is not expected to have a significantly longer wheelbase than that of the standard car, it has a large rear overhang and is taller at the back. The car also maximizes load space with revised rear seating. The engine choices will include the three petrols and three diesels from the current Superb range, linked to five and six-speed gearboxes. Another option is the DSG dual-clutch transmissions. Also expected to be available is a model with a Haldex developed four-wheel drive system that will be linked to the Superb's 3.6-litre V6 and the DSG gearbox to create a sports estate model. Skoda has yet to release the pricing!
