Beefed up for competition, the Subaru Impreza WRX STi Spec C has been homologated to be used in rallying. The hardcore Spec C is a lightweight, toughened-up homologation special. It has the same power and torque outputs as Japan's 2.0-liter WRX STi - 304bhp and 311lb ft. However, it gets a new, high-response twin-scroll turbocharger and a reprogrammed ECU to boost mid-range thrust. Subaru's actions to reduce the weight resulted to a 30kg loss. The chassis is fitted with stiffer springs, dampers and bushes (up by 15 to 30%). The car received a more rigid front crossmember and a thicker rear anti-roll bar too.
