Expected to go on sale later this year, the European production versions of the new Subaru Outback and Legacy models will be slightly different from their American counterparts. The European versions are presently being shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Euro-spec cars will get a redesigned front grille, front bumper and larger wing mirrors. The Legacy saloon and estate models are 65mm and 55mm longer than the outgoing models respectively, while the wheelbase in both cases is expanded by 80 mm to increase interior legroom. For the Legacy, two four-cylinder petrol engines will be offered - a 2.0 liter and a 2.5-liter unit - and Subaru's 2.0-liter boxer turbodiesel engine. Meanwhile, the Outback will be available with the 2.5-litre petrol and 2.0-litre boxer diesel engines.
