Trying to take away at least some of the mystery surrounding Toyota's next-generation midsize SUV is this lone photo. We now know that the new 4Runner continues to utilize body-on-frame construction, debunking earlier claims that it could be a unibody crossover. Looking at the image's wheels, we can also expect off-road prowess from the new 4Runner. Styling changes aren´t radical. The exterior form seems to be an evolution of the current truck, although the front fascia looks beefier than before, hinting of being inspired by the full-size Tundra pickup. Other styling features and the engine options are unknown. However, some sources suggest that Toyota is throwing out the V-8 model in favor of a fuel-efficient lineup, including a 2.7-liter I-4 and a 4.0-liter V-6. If you want to know more, you´ll just have to wait for the unveiling of the 2010 4Runner in Texas or you can visit AutomobileMag.com on September 24.
