2010 Toyota Avalon details and specs revealed

Toyota will offer the 2010 Avalon in three grades: the standard XL, the XLS, and the top-of-the-range Limited. The 2010 model is the third generation of the model first rolled out in 1995. A 3.5-liter V6 engine that generates 268 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque will power all three models. To get outstanding performance at all engine speeds, Toyota installed the Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (Dual VVT-i) and a dual-stage variable intake manifold. The engine will be mated to a six-speed automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i). The car is able to go from 0 to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds. The car is reported to have a fuel consumption rating of 19 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.
In particular, the XL version is equipped with 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels, while 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels are found standard on the other grades. All Avalon trims levels have a standard full-size spare tire. With regards to safety features, Avalon's supplemental restraint system (SRS) includes standard front seat-mounted side airbags and front and rear side-curtain airbags.
Also considered as standard equipment are a driver's knee airbag and front seat active headrests. You can also expect to find ABS, EBD, VSC, TRAC and BA on the 2010 Avalon range. The XL grade includes as standard premium AM/FM stereo with six-disc CD changer and nine speakers, dual-zone automatic climate control with air filtration, remote keyless entry, power door locks with an anti-lockout feature, power windows with driver and passenger automatic up/down with jam protection and retained power, a multi-adjustable power driver's seat and a center console storage area with sliding armrest.
