2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible

GM officially announced today that the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible will make its official debut in November, at the 2010 Los Angeles International Auto Show. The new 2011 Camaro Convertible will hit the dealerships in February 2011 and will have a base price of $30,000, including $850 destination (more details about this are expected to be released later this year). As expected, the Camaro Convertible will be available in the same basic model offering as the Camaro Coupe.

The base model will be powered by the 312 hp Direct Injection V6 engine, expected to deliver 29 miles per gallon on the highway. The more powerful Camaro SS Convertible, will carry the impressive 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 426 hp. The Camaro Convertible will be offered as standard with a manual six-speed transmission but an optional six-speed automatic will also be available.

The Convertible will make the all-new Camaro, already a smash-hit, even more desirable to a greater range of drivers,” says Chris Perry, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. For those who don’t know, the Camaro is considered America’s most popular sports car. Regarding the new Camaro Convertible, one of the first production versions was recently sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction for $205,000. But, we’ll wait for the cheaper version.
