Production of the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro will start on June 7. Its 2LT and 2SS models will be priced $350 higher, owing to the increase in power and torque. The 2010 MY car was officially rated at 227 kW (304 bhp / 308 PS) with torque peaking at 370 Nm (273 lb-ft). The engine has been re-certified for an extra 6 kW (8 bhp / 8 PS) out of the VVT direct-injection V6 engine. Furthermore, torque was boosted by 7Nm (5 lb-ft).

Jim Campbell, US Vice President, Chevrolet Marketing, said that the company is pleased with the success the Camaro had received in its first year of production.

He described the 2010 model year as a banner year for Chevrolet, and so the company aims to build on this momentum. He also announced that customers can ask for the optional SEMA-tested color Synergy Green. Head-Up Display (HUD) is also offered in the Camaro, only the second Chevrolet to have it after the Corvette.
