Chrysler Group released today the first photos with their upcoming 2011 Chrysler 200 mid-sized sedan. According to the manufacturer, the new car will offer a refined and spirited driving experience as well as an abundance of standard safety features and innovative technology. Regarding the design, the new car will feature : front and rear fascias and fenders, grille featuring the new Chrysler brand winged badge, hood, rear decklid and exterior mirrors, new projector headlamps and fog lamps, new LED taillamps as well as a LED center high-mounted stop light.

Under the hood we’ll find a new powertrain lineup featuring 2.4-liter I-4 World Gas Engine mated to a four- our six-speed automatic transmission. Also, the car will be available with the new Pentastar V-6 engine capable to deliver 283 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque and mated to a six-speed automatic transaxle.

Chrysler says that the new car will offer improved suspension geometry with a raised roll center, a new rear sway bar, and new tires and an extensively upgraded treatment for the reduction of noise, vibration and harshness. Inside, updates include a new instrument panel, bezels and gauge face, upgraded seats, new “soft touch” door trim panels, new “soft touch” armrests and dash and new heating and cooling outlets. The 2011 Chrysler 200 will be built at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Sterling Heights, Mich and is set to hit the dealerships in the fourth quarter 2010.
