Besides the Fiat 500 Sport, the 2011 Chrysler 200 Sedan and the 2011 Jeep Patriot, Chrysler Group also released today the first photos of the new 2011 Chrysler Town & Country minivan which offers revised styling, new powertrain and an abundance of standard safety features. According to Chrysler the new minivan comes as standard with SafetyTec, a package of 40 standard safety and technology features such as Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection, available only on the company’s minivans. Also, the car features improvements to ground-breaking innovations like the Stow ‘n Go seating and storage system.
Furthermore, the manufacturer offers a dual dvd system that can play different media at the same time, SIRIUS Backseat TV which offers three channels of children’s programming and FLO TV which features 20 channels of live programming – both of which are exclusive to Chrysler Group minivans. Voice command functions for radio, iPod/mp3 players, phone, navigation and information and the SafetyTec are also offered. Under the hood we find company’s new Pentastar V-6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission capable to deliver 283 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque.
The engine is also capable to deliver an estimated EPA fuel economy rating of 17 miles per gallon (mpg) City and 25 mpg Highway. The interior has been upgraded and now features a new instrument panel and instrument cluster, new steering wheel with integrated controls which allows the drive to access the radio, cruise control, hands-free phone and other vehicle functions while keeping their hands on the wheel. The interior also comes with upgraded cloth and leather seating materials and new “soft touch” door trim and new heating and cooling control system. The 2011 Chrysler Town & Country will be built at the Windsor Assembly Plant, Windsor, Ontario, Canada and will hit the dealerships in the fourth quarter 2010.
