2011 Citroen C4 Picasso/Grand Picasso
Starting October, the facelifted version of the Citroen C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso models will be offered to British consumers. These vehicles now boast of upgraded engines and equipment. In addition, both C4 Picasso ranges will feature models that make use of Citroen’s new e-HDi micro-hybrid technology. The new e-HDi micro-hybrid technology is a combination of a second-generation Stop & Start system, an e-booster function that re-starts the engine instantly and a refined Euro 5 HDi 110hp DPFS engine with a 6-speed EGS transmission.
For the C4 Picasso, the powertrain offers a combined cycle economy of up to 58.9 mpg (4 l/100km). Meanwhile, the Grand C4 Picasso offers up to 57.6 mpg (4.1 l/100km). Both have CO2 emissions that are between 125g/km and 132g/km. The carmaker said that this would be the first time that e-HDi equipped models will be offered in the UK. The cars offered enhanced standard equipment, including VTR+ models that were upgraded to feature rear parking sensors, electrically folding mirrors, an USB socket and Bluetooth. All Exclusive models now feature stylish 17-inch alloy wheels, new upholstery, USB and Bluetooth connectivity and the new Citroen eTouch Emergency & Assistance System.
The models now also get the eTouch option, which enables the driver to make emergency or assistance calls using a built-in SIM card, if there is an accident or if the car is immobilized. With Citroen’s eTouch, drivers are able to consult information online at their ‘MyCITROEN’ personal space, which enables them to monitor their vehicle’s maintenance requirements and to get advice on how to improve their fuel economy. The C4 Picasso has a starting price of £16,345, while the Grand C4 Picasso is priced from £17,745.
