2011 Continetal GT to receive more special editions than previous model

According to the latest reports from Autocar, Bentley is planning to build more special editions of the all-new 2011 Continental GT, after the model will go on sale in 2011. The British manufacturer sold 23,000 examples of the outgoing Continental GT in seven years, but with the new special editions, we well as the introduction of a V8-powered Continental GT, the new model might overtake the current one. The 2011 Bentley Continental GT will go on sale early next year, and will carry a base price tag of $189,900 MSRP (exclusive of individual state taxes).

Furthermore, in the U.K. the car will cost £135,760 (pricing is inclusive of 20 % VAT (1 January, 2011), €154, 600 (doesn’t include individual market taxation rates). In Japan, the car will be priced from ¥24,150,000. Under the hood, we will find the impressive 6.0-liter W12 engine delivering 575 PS / 567 bhp / 423 kW and 700 Nm / 516 lb ft of torque.

This engine can push the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds), to 100mph in 10.2 seconds (0-160km/h in 10.2 seconds) and to a top speed of 198 mph (318km/h). In addition, a new 4.0-liter V8 engine will also be introduced on the Continental GT lineup.
