2011 Dodge Journey

If you thought that the 2011 Dodge Charger, 2011 Durango, 2011 Chrysler 200 Sedan and the 2011 Fiat 500 Sport were the new cars which will be unveiled this year by the Chrysler Group, think again, as the manufacturer unveiled today the 2011 Dodge Journey. Yes, that’s right, this is a refreshed version of the popular mid-size crossover with “right sized” proportions, which promises to bring some innovative solutions in its segment. First of all, the new 2011 Journey receives a retuned suspension, a new V6 engine as well as an improved interior. The new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine delivers 283 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, with 20 percent more power compared with the old V6 engine that it replaces.

The engine is mated to a smooth-shifting six-speed transmission. The interior is the most rewarding surprise, as the new car offers a beautifully crafted one-piece instrument panel, a larger cluster with standard electronic vehicle information center (EVIC), a full-color display backlit in Dodge red lights. In addition, the heating and cooling outlets were also redesigned in order to make them better looking and better functioning.

The USB port is available for owners in order to can hook up their MP3/iPod. Furthermore, a new steering wheel is available, with integrated controls. Regarding the design, the Journet maintains its sculpted, clean, aggressive lines for the 2011 model year and brings a new front fascia that sports the signature Dodge Brand “split crosshair” honeycomb grille. The fog lamp bezels are bigger and bolder. The design is completed by the 19-inch wheels. Expect the 2011 Dodge Journey to hit the dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2010.
