2011 Ford F-150 pickups to deliver the promised 20% improvement in mileage

Ford confirmed the fact that the 2011 F-150 pickups will deliver the promised 20 percent improvement in mileage, thanks to the new lineup of four new engines. The new 2011 F-150 will offer a 3.7-liter V6 engine as standard, while a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with turbocharging and direct injection will be optional. According to Ford, the 3.7-liter V6 which delivers an estimated 300 hp at 6,500 rpm, 275 lbs.-ft. of torque at 4,500 rpm and a capability to tow a 6,100-pound trailer Two V8 engines, a 5.0-liter and a 6.2-liter, will also be offered. All the four engines will be offered with a new six-speed automatic transmission for enhanced fuel economy. For those who don’t , the 2010 F-150 model offered a 4.6-liter V8 engine as standard and the last V6 engine to be offered in an F-150 was during the 2008 model year.
