2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty will be B20 biodiesel compatible

Aside from being applauded for being the best-in-class diesel, the 2011 F-Series Super Duty is also getting raves for being powered by the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 turbocharged diesel engine that is B20 biodiesel compatible.
Ford said that customers appreciate the additional fueling option that uses blends of up to 20% biodiesel and 80% petroleum diesel. While the Super Duty was being developed, engineers put more than 10.3 million equivalent test miles on the new diesel engine, including extreme road and weather conditions. Continued after the jump!
In this testing program, other customer data were recorded. These include driving styles, road types and vehicle usage (towing and payload). Ford explained that since biodiesel fuel varies in quality in the US and Canada, durability testing cycles were run on multiple blends of the fuel.
Ed Waszczenko, lead diesel engine durability engineer, said that the Super Duty was tested extensively on B20 to guarantee the compatibility of the vehicle fuel system components, including fuel filters, lines and connections.
Waszczenko said that to prove compatibility and durability, each component was tested in a 'worst case' proprietary fuel mixture. Ford tells customers that even if they choose a more environmentally friendly fuel, they’re still assured of a top performance since the new 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 turbocharged diesel engine can deliver 390hp at 2,800 rpm and 735 ft.-lb. of torque at 1,600 rpm.
