2011 Ford Fiesta is either right on schedule or a few weeks late?

There's a minor dispute ongoing on whether the new 2011 Ford Fiesta small car is either right on schedule or late by a few weeks. Ford claims that it is on schedule for a summer launch and in fact, the cars have been shipped from an assembly plant in Mexico this week. However, some customers and dealers claim that the car was supposed to arrive weeks ago. On Ford's Fiesta Facebook page, we read several complaints from customers who said that their pre-ordered car was at least two weeks late. Many mentioned Ford's failure to communicate about the holdup.
Ford asserts that the accusations are false. Ford spokeswoman Angie Kozleski said that the company has been very transparent with customers who made pre-orders. She pointed out further that Ford has a reservations call center and a reservations hotline. She claims there has been a lot of communication with these customers. Kozleski also pointed out that there are no production problems at Cuautitlan, Mexico plant, where Ford started producing the Fiesta in May. She said that transporting the Fiestas from the plant to the US border takes two to three weeks. She insists that the car isn´t late to arrive and that the company's promise was for summer.
