2011 Geneva Motor Show: Brabus 800 Widestar takes the G-Class to another level

On the 2011 Geneva Motor Show floor, Brabus’ tuning kit for the three-pointed star Mercedes-Benz G-Class has received a lot of admiration. Brabus has created the world’s most potent off-roader with a V12 that can deliver 800hp. At the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, Brabus had presented the 700hp G V12 S Biturbo Widestar. The increase in power comes from the same V12 bi-turbo engine, which has the capacity to operate at full throttle from 5,500 rpm. The huge torque levels, 1,420 Nm, can be attained close to idle, at only 2,100 rpm.
Brabus was able to make the most powerful G in the world to reach some outstanding performance figures. The model is able to go from zero to 100 km/h in seconds. It has an electronically limited top speed of 240 km/h. To be able to manage the power, the brakes and suspension were also modified.
But other than these upgrades mentioned, the new Widestar is very similar to the one introduced last year. In terms of appearance, there are few differences between the two versions. The most visible revisions compared to the standard production variant would be the wide body kit, new set of wheels and a luxurious new interior.
