2011 Geneva Motor Show Preview: Renault Megane Monaco GP Special Edition

2011 Renault Megane Monaco GP

It can’t be denied that the Renault Megane Monaco GP special edition, which is based on the Megane Coupe and Megane RS, is designed to appeal to a younger target market. Exuding “elegance, sport and style,” the car will have two versions based on the Dynamique equipment level. The official unveiling is set to take place at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The Megane features a pearlescent white body finish, which was designed exclusively for the Monaco GP series of cars.

The car boasts a sharp contrast, which was accomplished with the use of Etoile black components such as side mirrors, rear diffuser, fog lamp surrounds and headlight masks. A set of “Monaco GP” badges on the sides of the car is also painted in this color. Pearlescent white accents were added to the console, strip and door handles.

Just like most special edition models, “Monaco GP” stitching can be seen embroidered on the seats. The car chassis was tweaked to boost “driving thrills” but without sacrificing comfort. These two models are equipped with a sporty ESP system, bi-xenon directional headlights and the latest-generation dual-chamber airbags. The Coupe version is offered in five engine options: dCi 110 EDC, dCi 130, dCi 160, Tce 130 and Tce 180. The Renault Megane RS Monaco GP is powered by the existing 250 hp 2.0-liter 16V turbo engine. Prices have yet to be revealed.
