2011 Holden WM Series II Caprice, Caprice V-Series unveiled in Australia

Just weeks from now, Australian and New Zealand markets will start receiving the 2011 Holden WM Series II Caprice and the Caprice V-Series. In relation to this, GM-owned Australian brand Holden released details about the vehicles. Holden announced that in this Series II update, it will stop the using the Statesman badge.

The Series II also provides a 282hp (210-kW) SIDI V6 direct-injection engine that is partnered into a six-speed Active Select automatic transmission. This new series also offers 4% better fuel economy compared to the previous V6-powered Caprice. According to the press release from the company, this provides to using 9.9 liters of fuel per 100 km, or nearly 24 mpg (US).

The new model is expected to feature “upgrades to comfort, convenience and safety." Some details have still to be revealed but it appears like the Holden-iQ touch screen infotainment system will be offered. This includes real-time traffic alerts, Bluetooth, USB connection, and a rear view camera display. If you want a vehicle that offers more power, it’s likely that you’ll find that the Holden Caprice V-Series is the car you would want to study.

This vehicle features a 6.0-liter V8 engine that has an output of 9hp (260 kW). It has the same transmission as the Series II, the V-Series needs 12.3 liters of fuel to travel 100 kilometers, or 19 mpg (US). The V-Series also uses an array of Nappa leather interior, tri-zone climate control, Bose audio, as well as LCD screens in the seats for the rear passengers to watch DVDs.

The vehicle has plenty of options for the color choices, including: “Alto Grey, Mirage Glow beige and Sizzle metallic red. Consumers may not prefer these pci. There are also reports that the vehicle will be painted Karma metallic blue, Nitrate metallic silver, and Phantom metallic black. GM has yet to reveal pricing.
