2011 Hyundai Avante/Elantra

Hyundai revealed today the new Avante compact sedan also known as Elantra in markets outside Korea. The new car follows the same design line from the 2011 Sonata. The car uses the latest 1.6L Gamma Gasoline Direct Injection engine which is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The engine delivers 140 hp and a maximum torque of 17.0kgm. The engine is with 10 percent more fuel efficient that its closest competitors.

Avante / Elantra uses advanced features which are not found on other compact cars, such as HID (High Intensity Discharge) headlamps, LED combination lamps in the rear, heated rear seats, puddle lamps and a color TFT LCD information display nestled in the gauge cluster.

Yang, President & CEO of Hyundai's Global Business Division, said at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) today. "We're confident that it will once again redefine the compact segment worldwide."
