Hyundai announced today that the 2011 Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-Spec will be priced at $26,750 (excluding $800 freight). The R-Spec is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 model found in the Genesis Coupe lineup capable to deliver 306 hp and mated to a 6-speed close-ratio manual transmission (the model is available only with a manual transmission). For those who don’t know, the R-Spec takes the core performance equipment from the 3.8 Track model and eliminates non-essential equipment such as metalgrain accents, automatic headlights, cruise control and chrome interior accents, sunroof and rear spoiler.

According to Hyundai, this helps in reducing the weight by 68 pounds and price by $4,000. The 2011 Genesis Coupe R-Spec comes with track-tuned suspension, 19-inch gunmetal-finish alloy wheels with performance summer tires, Brembo braking system, Torsen limited-slip differential and R-Spec badging.

Also, the car will be available in just four exterior colors: Karussell White, Bathurst Black, Interlagos Yellow and Tsukuba Red. Regarding the safety systems, the car comes with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Traction Control, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist as well as with 6 airbags: Advanced dual front airbags with Occupant Classification System (OCS), front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and roof-mounted side-curtain airbags.
