Hyundai released today the first photos with the 2011 Ix20, a new sister model of the Kia Venga, which was unveiled last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Measuring 4.10 meters in length, with a width of 1.77 meters and a height of 1.60 meters, the new car follows the same design philosophy introduced by the Ix35 and promises to make quite a buzz on the market. The new car will be available with a choice of two gasoline engines and a diesel engine.
The 1.4-liter gasoline engine will deliver 90 hp while the more powerful 1.6-liter will be capable to deliver 126 hp. The 1.4-liter diesel engine comes with 90 hp. Regarding the price, the 2011 Hyundai Ix20 pricing will start at €16,000 and will make its debut on the market by the end of the year.
"Designed and developed at Hyundai's European R&D centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany, the ix20 is the second European car, following the ix35, to adopt Hyundai's new 'fluidic sculpture' design language. The name ix20 reflects the new model's crossover-like versatility – a vehicle with the ability to simultaneously serve as a functional people-carrier while providing a dynamic, fun-to-drive experience." said the press release.
