Pricing for Hyundai's all-new 2011 Sonata has just been revealed. For a starting price of $19,195, you can get the well-equipped GLS model, a completely redesigned 2011 Sonata that delivers best-in-class fuel economy, an EPA-designated Large Car interior, and 198hp. The 200hp SE model is priced from $22,595 but if you want the top-of-the-line limited model, you can have one for $25,295. John Krafcik, Hyundai Motor America president and CEO, said that for the 2011 Sonata, the focus had been for a no-compromise engineering approach that would allow Sonata owners to have their cake, and eat it too.
He shared that the company's efforts have resulted to a set of attributes unheard of in the midsize car category. These 2011 Sonata has features that include 35 mpg and 200hp, bold design and an EPA Large Car interior, world-class quality and a class-leading value position. Krafcik added that with this car, it has reset conventional wisdom. Hyundai has the reputation of being the most fuel-efficient car maker in the US. Its commitment to continued fuel economy leadership is evident in the all-new Sonata.
Because of a new 2.4-liter Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) four-cylinder engine, new six-speed manual and automatic transmissions and highly refined aerodynamics, Hyundai has a best-in-class 35 mpg highway fuel economy rating. Aside from the advancements in fuel economy, the GDI engine produces a standard 198hp a record that surpasses Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Chevrolet Malibu and Ford Fusion. In particular, the Sonata GLS manual has best-in-class overall fuel economy with a 24 mpg city/35 mpg highway fuel economy rating. The other Sonata models are able to achieve 22 mpg city/35 mpg highway.
