2011 Hyundai Sonata will not offer a V6 engine

According to the latest reports, Hyundai Motor America will not offer a V6 engine in the recently unveiled 2011 Sonata midsize sedan. Of course, there will be a solution: the manufacturer will offer an upgraded version of the 4-cylinder Theta engine with gasoline-direct injection. This means that Hyundai will be the first auto maker in the 4-cyl. midsize-sedan segment with standard GDI's. The new GDI 4-cyl. Is expected to make its debut in January, at the Detroit Auto Show.
