To commemorate its 75th anniversary, Jaguar has developed limited-edition cars, which include the XKR175. The 2011 XKR175, its latest special edition car, will debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Revealed in the early part of the year, the XKR 75 Jaguar features a revised suspension, aerodynamics, and engine. Changes made to the XKR175 aren't anywhere near as extensive. Its engine and suspension weren't touched, but the car receives a revised aerodynamic package.
The XKR175 gets a new front air dam, side skirts, rear diffuser, and a larger spoiler. These tweaks are also found in the optional XKR Speed Pack. These changes aid in making the car more stable at speed by producing more downforce. Its top speed was raised, from 155 to 174 mph. The XKR175 is powered by the same XKR's supercharged 5.0-liter V-8, which delivers 510hp and 461 pound-feet of torque. It enables the XKR175 to sprint to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. Granting that this is a special edition model, it gets a bespoke exterior and interior. In addition, the XKR175 features a special Ultimate Black exterior paint color along with new 20-inch Kasuga wheels.
Completing the exterior changes are red brake calipers. The interior is distinctive, with special door sills reading "XKR175 -- 1 of 175" and the vehicle's production number, and special Warm Charcoal leather with contrasting cranberry stitching. It has additional trim pieces that have a Piano Black finish. The XKR175 will only have 175 samples, which will each have an MSRP of $104,500 including destination. It will arrive in dealerships later this year.
