2011 Kia Cadenza

These are the first pictures of the Kia Cadenza, the unit that replaces the Kia Amanti. Earlier this year, the VG Concept car was unveiled at the Seoul Auto Show. Its production version named the Kia Cadenza doesn't have the Amanti's retro-English styling and instead, makes use of strong character lines and muscular flared fenders to update the car.The Cadenza features a prominent grille and elegant jewel-like headlights with LED surrounds. A shapely shoulder is created due to the character line starts just above the headlamps, and runs all the way to the car's posterior. Unfortunately, we only got a copy of the front. We could only guess at how Cadenza's rear and interior look like. For now, we'll just imagine that it would be very similar to the VG concept car and design sketches previously released.

Kia says that the car will have a "futuristic floating dashboard" that may sound awesome but we think it would be similar to Volvo's cutaway center console. For an appearance of luxury, there is a mood lighting strip that runs the length of the dashboard to the door trim, a feature borrowed from several Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

The Cadenza has more upscale features that include a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, and power extendable seats cushions. It‚ likely that the Cadenza will only be available with six-cylinder power but it's still possible that Kia will provide more choices depending on the market. Under the hood, it‚ believed that the Cadenza will be equipped with a new 3.8-liter unit found in the Borrego.
