To go on sale in the US in January is the next generation Kia Sorento. These are its first official photos that were released along with its details. For its US customers, the Sorento made the transition from midsize body-on-frame SUV to unibody crossover. This CUV will be the first product to roll out from Kia's new West Point, GA factory. In November, production is set to intensify. The new Sorento is longer by about 4 inches in length and wider by 3 inches in girth compared to the outgoing model. The increase in measurements and its new structure allowed Kia to add a third row seat. However, since the vehicle is still only 184.4 inches long, it is likely those extra two seats will only be usable by small children. It's also the first time ever that a four-cylinder engine is offered in the lineup. It boasts of a 172 horsepower, 2.4-liter unit in addition to the 273 hp 3.5-liter V6. It is believed that the Sorento will debut at either the Los Angeles or Detroit Auto Show in December.
