Kia’s new Sportage First Edition crossover will offer a petrol-engined version. Due to a very strong demand Kia will be producing a petrol equivalent of the 2.0-litre CRDi model.
Powering the Sportage First Edition 2.0-litre AWD is Kia’s Theta-II 2.0-litre petrol engine, which will offer a five-speed manual transmission and generate 161bhp at 5200rpm and 143lb ft of torque at 4600rpm. The Sportage petrol model will be able to sprint from zero to 60mph in 10.3 seconds and achieve a top speed of 113mph. It offers a combined cycle fuel consumption of 35.8mpg and a CO2 emissions figure of 188g/km.
The new petrol-engined Sportage will be offered with the exact same trim level as the diesel model.
Standard features include black leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, 18in alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, Bluetooth, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, and a color rear-parking camera system integrated into the rear-view mirror.
The crossover, priced at £19,495, can now be ordered. Deliveries begin in October, with an even wider range of engines available. A 2WD model will be offered later this year.
