2011 KTM 125 Duke
At the recent Intermot show in Cologne, KTM recently showcased the 2011 KTM 125 Duke, a street bike that is designed for city commuting. This 125cc motorcycle concept appears to be inspired by two concept forms displayed at last year’s EICMA show, the Stunt and the Race versions. The low-cylinder machine is believed to have been made possible with the support of Bajaj, the newest Indian investor in KTM. The production series version is expected to arrive at dealerships in spring 2011.
The little Duke is targeted at entry-level riders and was created by the same team behind its older sibling, the 690 Duke. Powering the 125 Duke is a liquid-cooled fuel-injected 125cc engine that delivers 15hp at 10,500 rpm and 8.9 lb-ft torque (12 Nm) at 8000 rpm. This bike is equipped with a six-speed transmission that distributes the power to the rear wheel via chain drive.
The frame is chromoly trellis, with steel subframe. WP suspension units are comprised of an inverted 43mm fork and rear shock, with both units providing 6.3 inches of travel. The little Duke features Brembo brakes with single disc units in the front and rear. The small Duke has a weight of 282 pounds (128 kg), including a full 2.9-gallon tank (11 liters), while its seat height measures 31.9 inches (81 cm).
