The 2011 LA Auto Show saw today the all-new 2012 Hyundai Azera, company’s fifth vehicle to adopt the company's signature Fluidic Sculpture design language after the Tucson, Accent, Elantra and Sonata. As you can see from the photos, the 2012 Hyundai Azera design takes inspiration from the mechanics of flight and its looks are completed by the 19-inch multi-spoke wheels. The interior of the car promises to be more luxurious than the cars produced by competitors. Moreover, the 2012 Azera comes with more than 45 inches of legroom and 40 inches of headroom for front-seat passengers. Some of the interior highlights include the 3D Carbon accents, an optional panoramic sunroof, an electrochromic auto-dimming mirror with HomeLink, power rear sunshade as well as manual rear side window shades.
Under the hood, we find the Lambda II 3.3-liter GDI V6 engine delivering 293 hp and mated to an in-house six-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC manual control. EPA fuel economy estimates for the Azera are 20 mpg city / 29 mpg highway / 23 mpg combined. The 2012 Azera also promises to offer an Active Eco mode, which modifies engine and transmission control for improved fuel economy.
Regarding the standard features, the 2012 Azera offers a navigation system with seven-inch screen, comes as standard with three months of XM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth hands-free phone system, auxiliary iPod/USB inputs, real-time XM NavTraffic, XM NAV Weather, XM Sports Ticker and XM Stock Ticker, HD Radio Technology from the factory and with the Hyundai Blue Link telematics with a 90-day complimentary trial period. The 2012 Hyundai Azera will be available in the following colors: Black Onyx Pearl, Porcelain White Pearl, Silver Frost Metallic, Smoke Gray Metallic, Hyper Silver Metallic, Venetian Red Pearl, Bronze Mist Metallic and Midnight Blue Pearl. Interior color choices are Camel, Graphite Black and Chestnut Brown.
