The Shelby GT500, which is known as the ultimate Ford Mustang, brings the standard of performance higher as it introduces the new 2013 model, which delivers 650 horsepower and boasts a top speed of at least 200 mph. The new model will go on sale in 2012. According to Jost Capito, director of Global Performance Vehicles and Motorsport Business Development, the SVT maintains the Shelby GT500 on "the cutting edge of technology" and brings muscle vehicle performance to new levels. He further stated that every aspect of performance is "encapsulated" in this vehicle.
Regular drivers will also find the vehicle suitable for daily use. The 5.8-liter V8 aluminum-block engine delivers 650 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque, making it the world's most powerful production V8. The 3,850-pound vehicle is also exempted from the gas-guzzler tax. Almost every aspect of the powertrain has been optimized for producing the additional horsepower with its new supercharger, updated camshaft profiles, new cross-drilled block and heads, upgraded clutch, transmission and axle as well as a new carbon fiber driveshaft. A bigger and more efficient supercharger flowing more air through the engine is vital in producing 650 horsepower.
The new TVS series 2300 develops 2.3 liters of displacement. It is also a one-of-a-kind design to the 5.8-liter engine. The entire cooling system has been considerably updated on the new 5.8-liter engine. It now comes with a bigger cooling fan, a more efficient charge air cooler, fan shroud with high-speed pressure-relief doors, an intercooler heat exchanger with volume boosted 36 percent and a higher-flow intercooler pump.
