Buick LaCrosse GL Concept

The LaCrosse GL concept vehicle that can be viewed at the L.A. Auto Show is inspired by Buick luxury. What the brand’s color and trim designers used was a palette of cabernet red, dark cocoa brown and caramel choccachino. When looking at this vehicle, you’re reminded of the ombré patina on vintage guitars, the burnished metal of antique jewelry, and flocked lining of keepsake boxes. Its premium leather seats are French-stitched and illustrate the subtle elegance of classic club chairs and contours of windswept sand dunes. Smooth suede was used on the headliner.

Magdalena Kokoszynska, creative designer on LaCrosse GL, said that the brushed-and-tinted chrome trim provides the GL with a look that’s more subdued than if bright chrome was used. She added that its overall effect is in line with “Buick’s quietly confident aesthetic.” The doors and backlit Buick-emblazoned sill plates are very appealing.

Anyone who sits inside its cabin will instantly sense its luxurious ambiance, with its use of rich materials that have a warm hue on its flowing sculptural surfaces. The vehicle is refined with the use of soft touch and the slightest of details. Contrasting dark cocoa brown and caramel choccachino leather is used on its seats, doors and instrument panel surfaces. The pillowed surfaces of the seat cushions offer a vision of windswept sand dunes. The ice-blue French stitching along their seams complement Buick’s signature ambient lighting. A rich choccachino suede is used on the headliner. This material is typically used only in the most luxurious automotive interiors. Its steering wheel uses a butter-soft material.
