Maserati revealed today the GranTurismo MC Stradale, a car which promises to be the fastest, lightest and most powerful in the Maserati range. Set to go on sale in the first quarter of 2011, the new car is inspired by the the Trofeo GranTurismo MC and the race-winning GT4 motorsport models, and will have a top speed of over 300 km/h or 186 mph.

According to the Italian manufacturer, just like the two race cars, Trofeo GranTurismo MC and the race-winning GT4 motorsport models, the GranTurismo MC Stradale will razor-sharp handling and will be capable to take on almost all sports cars on the market.

Incorporating the handling and aerodynamic lessons from Maserati’s three racing programs, the GranTurismo MC Stradale promises to balance on-road driving needs with race-driving desires.

As expected the car produces more power, comparing it to the standard GranTurismo models: 336k or 450 hp, without even using more fuel or sacrificing the GranTurismo’s highly praised ride quality. For those who don’t know, the most powerful model in the Maserati range is the GranTurismo S which is powered by a 4.7-liter V8 engine capable to deliver 440 hp and a maximum torque of 490 Nm at 4750 rpm. The car can accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.9 seconds and gas a top speed of 295 km/h or 183 mph.
