Fans of the supermini are sure to gather at Mazda’s display of its facelifted 2 supermini at the Paris Motor Show. Mazda’s new ‘family face’ is evident at the front styling. The supermini also gets a new front grille and fog light surrounds, while the interior also gets an upgrade. The Mazda 2’s engine lineup is now compliant with Euro 5 rules and the range has a new automatic version. Ride comfort is enhanced with changes made to the 2’s chassis.
At Mazda’s stand, visitors will get to view the new 5 MPV, which features a new 113bhp 1.6-litre diesel engine. This unit’s fuel economy is 15% higher than Mazda’s previous 2.0-litre diesel engine. This engine is partnered with a new lightweight six-speed manual gearbox. The MZ-CD 1.6 diesel engine has been tweaked in the Mazda 3 to get a 6bhp boost and 12% more torque. It also offers improved fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions.
