Pricing data for the 2011 Outlander model, as well as details of the all-new 2.2 Di-D diesel engine on all manual transmissions were revealed recently by the British division of Mitsubishi. This marks the first time in the UK that Mitsubishi is introducing a 2WD diesel Outlander variant. Customers of the 2011 model year range will get two engine options: a 2.2 Di-D M/T Mitsubishi unit on the GX3 M/T variant and a 2.2 Di-D SST PSA unit. The 2WD variant is offered exclusively with GX3 M/T trim.
According to a statement from the company, the all-new Outlander engine offers “outstanding driving performances” and environmental credentials, including “more power, lower CO2 levels, better mpg and lower VED tax bands.” The new 2.2 Di-D M/T Mitsubishi engine comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox, and is available in 2 or 4 wheel drive options. The engine boosts power by 14% from 154 bhp to 175 bhp on the manual transmissions.
The CO2 emissions level is also lowered by 12%. There are six exterior color options: one solid (Polar White), two metallic (Cool Silver and Orient Red) and three pearlescent (Stone Grey, Tanzanite Blue and Amethyst Black). In the UK, the 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander has a starting price of GBP21,549 and can go as high as 29,199 GBP for the top of the range GX4 2.2 DI-D 4WD SST model. The 3-year Mitsubishi Service Plan (MSP) is priced at only GBP315.
