Today, at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, General Motors revealed the all-new 2012 Buick Verano compact luxury sedan. This is the latest model to come out from a product renaissance that Enclave started and which was followed by the LaCrosse and Regal. The 2012 Buick Verano features refined styling with a sporty line as well as a new and luxurious interior. From these photos, it’s clear that the 2012 Verano carries the same design philosophy introduced by the Enclave, Regal and LaCrosse, with its detailed black chrome waterfall grille, translucent projector beam headlamps, portholes, chrome accents, premium wheels, and tailored body-to-wheel relationship.
The car will be offered in the following colors: Claret Red Tintcoat and White Diamond Tricoat. Buyers may also choose from these additional exterior colors: Black, Olympic White, Switchblade Silver Metallic, Cyber Gray Metallic and Mocha Bronze Metallic. The interior is equipped with amazing seat comfort and support, but also premium soft-touch materials and ambient lighting that was inspired by the LaCrosse. The interior of the 2012 Verano will be offered in neutral and medium titanium colors leatherette/fabric seating surfaces, while ebony, cashmere and a unique Choccachino color are available for the leather-trimmed interiors.
The 2012 Buick Verano is powered by an Ecotec 2.4L four-cylinder engine featuring dual-overhead camshafts, variable valve timing and E85 capability. This engine has an output of 177hp (132 kW) and 170 lb.-ft. of torque (230 Nm). GM claims that it has a fuel consumption rating of 31 mpg on the highway. The engine is coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is optimized further with the use of electric power steering and a more efficient transmission design.
