Suzuki Kizashi Apex Concept
American Suzuki Motor Corporation introduced the turbocharged Kizashi Apex Concept at a recent press conference for the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). This turbo concept version of the Kizashi sport sedan displays the link between Suzuki’s automotive division and its champion motorcycles. The Kizashi Apex Concept boasts of having a Garrett turbocharger, an air-to-liquid intercooler, electronic boost control, and a specific engine control unit calibration that allows for excellent drivability. This system enhances the peak output of the Kizashi, making it range from 275hp to 300hp, with a maximum boost of 8.5 psi. The powertrain has been exclusively matched to a six-speed manual transmission.
The Kizashi Apex Concept performs better mainly because it now features an air-to-liquid intercooler that was made smaller to have a more effective charge air cooling. The unit has a comparably small heat exchanger and circulation pump that are meant to be the least intrusive to vehicle cooling.
