2011 Peugeot 508
Peugeot announced full details for its new 508 saloon and estate models weeks before they debut at the Paris Auto Show. The 508 range will boast an engine lineup that includes two petrol units and four diesel powerplants (all come with a Diesel Particulate Filter) that will be coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox or to a six-speed automatic transmission. In the petrol engine range, there is a 1.6 liter VTi that produces 120 hp and 160 Nm (144 grams of CO2 per km).
There’s also a 1.6 liter THP, which delivers 156 hp and 240 Nm of torque (149 grams of CO2 per Km for the manual box and 164 grams of CO2 per km for the automatic). The diesel powerplants include a 1.6 liter HDI that produces 112 hp and 285 Nm (109 g/km), a 2.0 liter HDI generating 140 hp and 340 Nm (125 g/km), a 163 hp version of the same engine (149 g/km) and a 2.2 liter HDI with 204 hp and 450 Nm (150 g/km).
There will also be a model that will be equipped with Peugeot’s HYbrid4 technology. With an output of 200 hp, this vehicle offers four-wheel drive and CO2 emissions of only 99 g/km. Peugeot also made sure to give its new models a high quality interior, which stand out due to features such as color head-up display, four-zone air conditioning, and keyless entry and startup.
