2011 Peugeot iOn: official details, photos and specs

Before Peugeot debuts the iOn electric vehicle at the Paris Motor Show, it released specifications as well as images of the car. A sister model for the Mitsubishi i-MiEV and the Citroen C-Zero, this iOn electric car is priced at €29,950, making it the lowest-priced among the three.
The iOn is equipped with an electric unit that delivers 64hp and a maximum torque of 180 Nm. It is powered by a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. If a standard 220V outlet is used, the battery is fully charged after 6 hours; but on a rapid charger, an 80% charge can be achieved in 30 minutes. The car, which weighs about 1,120 kg, will offer a driving range of 93 miles (150 km). It can sprint from zero to 62mph in 15.9 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 80 mph (130 km/h).
According to Peugeot’s press release, the iOn, the first of a new-generation of 100% electric full size cars, has long been “anticipated, dreamed about.” Peugeot is targeting a wide customer base of private individuals, professionals and public services who want to “take together the first step towards a new type of mobility.” A five-year warranty for the battery pack and powertrain is given.
