2011 Renault Modus & Grand Modus: official details, photos, specs and price

These are the first official photos of Renault's 2011 Modus/Grand Modus that is slated to start selling in France this September. The 2011 Modus, which is priced from €14,450 to €19,550 (and from €14,450 to €20,550 in the case of Grand Modus), will offer four configurations: Authentique, Expression, Dynamique, and Exception. The limited-edition Exception version that was released in 2009 will now be offered as a separate trim level for the new Modus. The Authentique version features body color exterior mirrors, 15-inch Faraway wheels, ABS and EBA, front airbags, lateral head/thorax airbags, trip computer and electric front windows. For the Expression configuration, Renault put in manual climate control, heated electric exterior mirrors, one-touch driver's side electric window and a 40W radio-CD with steering wheel-mounted fingertip remote control.
Meanwhile, the Dynamique offers an extra package that includes tinted rear glass, chrome details, 15-inch Taranils wheels, leather-trimmed steering wheel and gear level knob, curtain airbags, rain sensors, automatic climate control, electric rear windows and dedicated cornering lights. Lastly, the brand new Exception equipment level features16-inch Moal alloy wheels, cruise control with speed limited, anodized satin-finish central fascia details and combined leather/fabric upholstery. The new Modus has three engine configurations available: 1.2, 1.6 16V and TCE 100, which deliver from 75 to 112hp. The range-topping version features a 1.6 16V engine that delivers 112hp at 6,000 rpm and 151 Nm of torque at 4250 rpm. With these specifications, the car can accelerate from zero to 60mph in 12.3 seconds and hit a top speed of 184 km/h.
