Saab has unveiled its latest car at the 2010 LA Auto Show and has provided the official details, photos and specs. It’s obvious that the new car is inspired by the 9-4X Concept. It has the same distinctive Scandinavian and aircraft-inspired looks that are evident in other Saab vehicles. The new car is offered with two V6 petrol engine options. These are also found on the Chevrolet Equinox. The 3.0-liter V6 engine is able to deliver 265 hp and it is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and Saab XWD. With this engine, the car can go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 9.0 seconds.

The other 2.8-liter V6 engine, which generates 300 hp, is available exclusively in Aero specification and it produces 400 Nm spread of torque between 2,000 and 5,000 rpm. Sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) is accomplished in only 8.3 seconds. In addition, the Aero models will be fitted with 20-inch, nine-spoke ’turbine’ alloy wheels, as well as a black mesh front grille. The standard versions feature 18-inch, six-spoke alloy wheels.

The car offers plenty of space that can accommodate up to five adults. For infotainment, there are two audio options, a seven-speaker or top-of-the-line, and 10-speaker Bose system with 5.1 surround sound. Buyers may also opt for the 8-inch touchscreen, hard disk-based navigation system that offers a bird’s eye map view and 10 GB storage for ‘jukebox’ music files.
