2011 SsangYong Korando

SsangYong’s new Korando was officially presented at the Bologna Motor Show. With a starting price of €21,990, the crossover will be offered with a choice between two-wheel and four-wheel drive, both in automatic form. The car is offered with a 5-year or 100,000-mile (160900 km) warranty. The Korando signifies several major firsts for SsangYong, which has shown its preparedness to enter one of the most profitable sectors of the European car market. It’s obvious that this vehicle is an attempt by SsangYong to build an SUV at as low of a price as possible. Stylist Giorgetto Giugiaro has designed the SsangYong Korando with a focus on quality and desirability. The crossover is powered by SsangYong Korando's new e-XDi200 engine that can deliver 175hp.

The SsangYong Korando is a serious rival on the European C- segment SUV market with its awesome combined cycle fuel economy of 6l/100km (47mpg) and CO2 emissions of 157 grams per kilometer. The manual version can sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 10 seconds flat and can reach a top speed of 179 km/h (111 mph).

Meanwhile, the automatic can sprint from zero to 62 mph in 10.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 186 km/h (115 mph).In 2011, SsangYong will introduce a more economical version of the car, as well as a regular petrol engine. The new 2.0-liter diesel engine is available with both manual and automatic six-speed transmissions to power both front and four-wheel drive Korando models.
