Subaru released the availability and pricing of the 2011 WRX STI in the UK. Subaru has stopped using the Impreza designation for the latest generation. Both the four-and five-door variants of the new WRX STI are priced at GBP32,995. This is actually the first time that the four- and five-door versions have been sold together in the UK. Powering the STI is a 2.5-litre Subaru boxer 16-valve turbo engine with Dual Active Valve Control that has an output of 30 hp and 407Nm of torque.

The 2011 model has the same output as the outgoing STI but it features improved torque delivery throughout the rev range that leads to improved response and more linear acceleration. Sprinting from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) can be done in only 5.2 seconds.

Exterior styling received extensive revisions, with new bumpers, enlarged rear quarter panels and lower ride height. Upgrades were made to the quality of the cabin materials. All-new RECARO bucket seats were introduced in this model too. Subaru has modified its three-mode SI-Drive (Subaru Intelligent Drive) system that can be used to make adjustments to the engine’s characteristics to best suit an assortment of driving conditions.
