On February 5, UK dealerships will start to receive Suzuki's all-new GSX-R600, which was recently launched at the Almeria race circuit in Spain where it was named the new king of the Supersport class. The new GSX-R600 was redesigned from the ground up and it now poses several major advantages over its predecessors and rivals. Lighter by 9kg compared to the 2010 model, the new GSX-R600 offers the latest race-track inspired technology, including Showa Big Piston Forks, Brembo Monoblock brake callipers, a 15mm shorter wheelbase and an engine that was subjected to a complete revision.

Simon Crafar, a 500 Grand Prix winner, was a guest tester at the recent Motorcycle News test, where the new GSX-R600 was compared to its rivals and regarded as 'the new king of supersports'. Crafar said that the model is the whole package as it has “got everything really right and it performs well and handles well.”

In the February 2011 issue of Performance Bikes Magazine, tester Emma Franklin described the GSX-R600 as “a gloriously well-balanced bike,” which “gave more pleasure” than any road-bike she has ridden on track in the last three years. The new GSX-R600 has a recommended retail price of £8,799.
