2011 Tokyo Motor Show Preview: Nissan Juke Nismo Concept

Nissan Juke Nismo Concept

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd has launched the Nissan Juke Nismo concept at the Tokyo Motor Show. The concept exudes the possible look of the premium sports variant of the popular compact crossover. Although the characteristic styling of the Nissan Juke has redefined the highly competitive B-segment, the Juke Nismo Concept is much more dramatic, as it is wider, lower and has a tougher bearing. Even on display, one can identify the concept as a performance vehicle. Juke Nismo Concept amplifies the standard vehicle's one-of-a-kind combination of compact automobile agility, SUV strength and coupe-like responses.

The vehicle is in signature Nismo colors of pearl white with red highlights. The Juke Nismo Concept features a body kit made by aerodynamic specialists of the company's Nismo performance arm. Aside from its aesthetic appeal, the Juke Nismo Concept body kit is also designed to be dynamically highly efficient. New components include revised bumpers, wider fenders and sill side skirts.

To control airflow more efficiently, the tailgate spoiler has been revised with the addition of side elements. Also, the grille pattern has been changed. The shape of the door mirrors has also been modified in order to boost the vehicle's aerodynamic performance and to lessen front and rear lift without increasing drag. With reduced lifting, the contact patch of the tires has been increased to enhance the grip, which is further boosted with the stylish new 19-inch alloy wheels. The Nismo treatment expands to the chassis, which has been stiffened and lowered, thanks to the proprietary components of the sort that will be available from the expanded Nismo's parts catalogue. Meanwhile, the 1.6-litre direct injection turbo gasoline engine has been also been upgraded to provide more performance and power.
