2011 Subaru Advanced Tourer Concept

The Subaru Advanced Tourer Concept may demonstrate the brand’s future direction but with its Lamborghini-style doors in front, "suicide" doors in back, a glass roof and no B-pillar, it’s certainly not entering production in this state. Spokesman Michael McHale said that this is how the company wants to prove the existence of a market for a small, sporty wagon in the future. This concept is actually smaller than the Outback or Legacy wagon. It is powered by a downsized 1.6-liter direct-injection turbocharged hybrid boxer four engine, which Subaru presently doesn’t have in its lineup. This wagon’s exterior lines make it appear exciting. Someday, these lines may be seen in a production version but Subaru said that this would take place sometime in the future yet.
