It appears that Geely has very big plans with the newly acquired Volvo, as it plants to challenger Bmw, Audi and Mercedes-Benz with the new V60 station wagon on the European market. According to Tomas Ahlborg, the model's project chief, Volvo wants to sell over 50,000 units of the V60, while the total targeted global production reaches 400,000. “This will be one of our very most important cars for the European market,” Ahlborg said. The production of the 2011 Volvo V60 started today, at the Torslanda plant near Volvo's Gothenburg, Sweden, headquarters. Set to take o cars such as the Bmw 3-Series Touring, Audi A4 Avant and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate, the new car is expected to be a success on the European market. Volvo is expecting 90 percent of V60 sales to be in Europe. Unfortunately, this car has big chances to skip the United States market, as it is pretty small.
