Pricing for the new 2011 Caddy and Caddy Maxi was recently released by Volkswagen’s UK division. The Caddy lineup consists of the new Caddy C20 and C20+ (which offers an increased payload) vans, the Caddy Maxi van, the Caddy Maxi window van, and the Caddy Maxi MPV (formerly marketed as the Life). The 1.6 liter 75 hp TDI Caddy van is priced from 12,100 pounds ($18,636 or EUR14,652) while the entry-level Caddy Maxi model powered by the 1.6 liter 102 hp TDI engine is priced from 14,050 pounds ($21,633 EUR17.013). These prices are exclusive of VAT.

According to VW’s press release, the new Caddy and Caddy Maxi features “fresh styling and a range of new engines as well as upgraded materials and a new choice of comfort, convenience and safety options,” making them the most economical and refined iterations of the popular range to date. What’s offered as standard on the Caddy range are the following: Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TCS), automatic hazard lights activation for emergency braking, driver airbag, speed sensitive power steering, remote central locking and a CD sound system with an auxiliary socket.

VW said that the new Caddy range adopts the look of the new Volkswagen family and uses “clean, horizontal lines” that have been seen on the Transporter. The company also asserted that the range offers “strong value for money” over the outgoing models with five versions offered from launch. For the first time, consumers can order the Caddy with the seven-speed DSG double clutch gearbox, with certain models offered with the 4MOTION four-wheel-rive system. Also included in this range are two BlueMotion models that offer low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions figures.
