As expected, Volkswagen unveiled today the 2011 Eos Facelift, an updated version of the popular coupe-cabriolet featuring the new design philosophy. Seen also on the 2011 Passat and the 2011 Touareg, the new family face made its debut on the Eos, featuring a new chromed grille but also completely new headlights incorporated with the daytime running LED technology.
And don’t think this is all you get because you are wrong, as the new Eos also brings a completely new rear end with rear tail lamps borrowed from the 2011 Volkswagen Passat, unveiled last week at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.
Furthermore, the 2011 model year Eos received a multi-functional display, remote control Light Assist, the second generation Park Assist, keyless access, start button as well as the optional Cool Leather coating (this leather reflects the sunlight and keeps you cool). Under the hood, with some help from the BlueMotion technology, the fuel consumption was reduced by 0.7 l/100 km.
This means that the 2.0-liter diesel engine delivering 140 PS has now a fuel consumption of just 4.8 l/100 km. Regarding the price, the 2011 Eos featuring the 2.0-liter petrol engine delivering 210 PS (same engine found on the Golf GTI) will be priced from €27,975. The official debut will be made in November at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show, while the deliveries will start in January 2011.
