2012 Audi A5 Facelift

Audi revealed today the facelifted version of the popular A5 model which is offered in three versions: Sportback, Coupé, Cabriolet. As you can see from the photos, the 2012 Audi A5 Facelift gets the new design line seen also on the 2012 Audi A6, which means the car received a new set of stylish headlights available in xenon plus technology with homogenous LED daytime running lights (as an option), new rear lights as well as new colors and materials for the interior.

According to Audi, the refreshed A5 interior is now available with Nappa leather, which replaces the Valcona in the Sportback (which is now optionally available as a five-seater). Under the hood, all engines feature optionally available as a five-seater and this means we will find the entry-level 1.8 TFSI delivering 125 kW (170 hp) and a fuel consumption of just 5.7 liters of fuel per 100 km (41.27 US mpg) and 134 grams CO2 per km (215.65 g/mile).

Furthermore, we find the 2.0 TFSI with its 155 kW (211 hp), but also the 3.0 TFSI (new to the Audi A5 lineup) delivering 200 kW (272 hp). The popular 2.0 TDI comes with 130 kW (177 hp) and a fuel consumption of just 4.7 liters of fuel per 100 km (50.05 US mpg) and a CO2 equivalent of 122 g per km (196.34 g/mile). The well-known 3.0 TDI with 150 kW (204 hp) is the most fuel-efficient six-cylinder unit in its class worldwide as it produces 180 kW (245 hp) and delivers a fuel consumption of 4.9 liters (48 US mpg) per 100 km and just 129 grams CO2 per km (207.61 g/mile). A second variant of this engine is available, delivering 180 kW (245 hp). Regarding the prices, the 2012 Audi A5 Facelift is with only €200 more expensive than the current model. The base model, the Audi A5 Sportback 1.8 TFSI, costs €33,350.
