The advanced Audi A6 -- the A6 allroad Quattro – will be offered beginning next month with a starting price of £43,145 OTR. It has a very sophisticated electronic ‘brain’ and will be complemented by added brawn. The third generation A6 allroad quattro has a stance that’s customarily tougher and it also comes with a four-level adaptive air suspension as it makes its global debut. Its deliveries will start in the spring. Audi reaped plenty of success for the first two generations of the allroad Quattro. One was launched in 2000 while the second one was launched in 2006.
Audi aims to enhance the latest version by giving it some extraordinary versatility with even higher efficiency that is demonstrated in fuel economy improvements of as much as 20 percent. The latest A6 allroad quattro is six centimetres higher than the Avant. Its dimensions are length of 4.94 metres, width of 1.90 metres, and height of 1.47 metres. Similar to the saloon and ‘standard’ Avant, this model used the newest Audi ultra lightweight construction principles, with aluminum parts accounting for about 20% of its body. Its total vehicle weight was cut by up to 70 kilograms compared with the older model.
Among the highlights of this allroad quattro are the extended side sills, wings that are more widely flared, and vertical slats within the single-frame grille. The underbody at the front and rear of the car is protected by stainless steel guards and its exhaust system ends in two large, flattened tailpipes. Double bars are used to mount the roof rails. A contrasting paint color is used on the wheel arches, bumpers and sills but if the optional aluminum exterior package is specified, it may have the same color as the body. The new A6 allroad Quattro may also come in the exclusive color, Java Brown.
